When King Khan lost...well, almost

Shahrukh Khan was on the verge of failure during the year 1999 and 2000. This period was his biggest dip in his career. Badshaah was the only hit of 1999 and later SRK faced a flop in the form of Heyy Ram. In the year 2000, the most expected movie Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindustani took a severe beating at the box office. The movie was produced by SRK’s own production house, Dreamz Unlimited with Juhi Chawla. The company suffered financial losses and to add salt to the wounds, Hrithik Roshan emerged as the best thing to happen to Bollywood. His movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai took off brilliantly and trade pundits forecasted the doom of Shahrukh Khan. But then as Shahrukh khan always has the last laugh, he resurfaced at the fag end of 2000 with Mohabbatein. It was the second biggest hit of the year after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. Shahrukh Khan who has a fabulous relationship with Hrithik Roshan jokingly quoted in one of the Filmfare Awards show recently that Hrithik nearly brought him down at one time.
