When King Khan lost...well, almost

Shahrukh Khan was on the verge of failure during the year 1999 and 2000. This period was his biggest dip in his career. Badshaah was the only hit of 1999 and later SRK faced a flop in the form of Heyy Ram. In the year 2000, the most expected movie Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindustani took a severe beating at the box office. The movie was produced by SRK’s own production house, Dreamz Unlimited with Juhi Chawla. The company suffered financial losses and to add salt to the wounds, Hrithik Roshan emerged as the best thing to happen to Bollywood. His movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai took off brilliantly and trade pundits forecasted the doom of Shahrukh Khan. But then as Shahrukh khan always has the last laugh, he resurfaced at the fag end of 2000 with Mohabbatein. It was the second biggest hit of the year after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. Shahrukh Khan who has a fabulous relationship with Hrithik Roshan jokingly quoted in one of the Filmfare Awards show recently that Hrithik nearly brought him down at one time.

Shahrukh Khan going the Taare Zameen Par way, about to make the most expensive children's movie ever

Shahrukh Khan seems to be bitten by the Taare Zameen Par bug. Close on the heels of the success of Taare Zameen Par, Shahrukh Khan has announced his decision to make a movie on children. This will be reportedly the most expensive movie ever made on children. SRK made his announcement about making an adventure movie for kids with special effects that could cost his production company $ 25 million! Shahrukh Khan will also be acting in it.

SRK who has a penchant for fantasy movies, thrills and adventure is floating this movie that will actually be about a group of children who go on an adventure spree and then are faced by surprising turns of events that go against them. SRK is not leaving any stone unturned to make it as technically sound as Spiderman movies. The film will be directed by Anubhav Sinha, of Tum-Bin fame.

Shahrukh Khan-the biggest star in the world?

“Shahrukh Khan is the biggest movie star in the world” crooned people in Germany, and no there were not just Indians who were saying it but white skinned phirangs who gushed and cheered the King Khan as he went to Berlin to promote his recent and biggest blockbuster after Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Om Shanti Om. OSO is SRK’s second biggest hit ever, second only to DDLJ.

Reports in NDTV and other news channels shows enthusiastic supporters and PYTs from Germany rooting for Shahrukh Khan. Om Shanti Om has become a huge success story in India as well as abroad. The girls there were singing to the tunes of “Tujhe Dekha Toh Jana Sanam” and “Om Shanti Om” in cute German accent. The mass hysteria that King Khan commanded in Germany bears testimony to the fact that Shahrukh Khan is a national star as well as a huge star in countries like Germany, France, UK, USA and Gulf countries. It is a thing of pride and honor for India as the biggest entertainer of India is also the greatest star in the world. A German journalist stated in media that SRK is as popular as Pope, but sexier! When Shahrukh Khan was quizzed about him being popular than Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, SRK in his usual trademark wit said, “That is all fine but I am paid much lesser than them. “ Makes sense actually.

Kya Aap Panchvi Pass se Tez Hain?-Shahrukh Khan plays host in the biggest TV game show ever

Shahrukh Khan is coming up with the mother of all quiz shows- Kya Aap Panchvi Pass se Tez Hain? The prize money of the show is a whopping 5 crores. It is based on the lines of the famous American TV quiz show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader.

Kya Aap Panchvi Pass se Tez Hain? will have adult contestants who will be asked questions onsubjects learnt by the children from standard I to standard V. There will be 5 rounds in total and both kids and adults will have participation on the show. Expect the likes of Darsheel Safary and Swini Kara to attend the show as guests or participants in future. Everything that SRK touches turns gold and SRK’s wit and charm will make sure that the serial has the highest viewing. Looks like Synergy Adlabs who is producing the quiz show will leave no stone unturned to make the show a resounding success. Shahrukh Khan recently stated in a press interview that in an average household, the child has control over the TV remote. If the child likes to watch the show, parents give company and the entire family sits to watch the show. This is the reason why SRK says a TV quiz show on children will attract the entire family.

Is Shahrukh Khan insecure of Darsheel Safary?

Wow...this looks like an exciting title to fire up a blog. But that is what I kind of noticed when I read the Shahrukh Khan interview on Bombay Times, as the uncrowned king of romance was interviewed

Here is the section from Times of India, published on February 14th 2008:

He is the eternal Rahul of Indian cinema, the lover who always gets the heroine in the end. But call him that and Shah Rukh Khan just throws up his hands and says resignedly, “People call me a lot of names; I don’t mind being called any!

Then on a serious note, the King of Romance adds, “I have reached the giving stage of my Bollywood love affair. I want to give more and more love to my audience through my work. If you want to call it love... please go ahead!”

But SRK is not the kind to straitjacket love in the confines of Valentine’s Day. “I have never really understood this day. According to me, love has so many facets. For instance, if you asked Don Juan, he would have said that loving 1700 women was the nicest thing in his life.

And I think I would respect that also. The beauty of love is that it has no boundaries. For me, love means my children. I am in love with the undiplomatic and innocent stage of life that they are in,” he says. And isn’t it a little kid, Darsheel Safary, who is competing with Mr Khan for the Filmfare best actor award too? “Every year the competition keeps getting younger. Very soon, I will be nominated with an unborn baby,” he smiles.

Shahrukh Khan did not comment on the performance of the child prodigy. May be he has not seen Taare Zameen Par till date. But SRK being the wizard of wit and the baadshah of Bollywood has sportingly admitted that Bollywood is soon becoming a child’s play. SRK who is known to cover new ground(or walk the already explored path in his own way) is now contemplating making the most expensive movie on children ever(can u smell Taare Zameen par?). From the way things are heading this time, it looks like Darsheel Safary will win the Filmfare Best Actor Award and SRK could land up with the Filmfare Critics Award for the Best Actor

How to get a six pack body-Tips from Shahrukh Khan

How to get a six pack body like SRK’s is what every health freak’s immediate thought. To get the washboard stomach, Shahrukh Khan has been working out after Don’s release. He still does his workout religiously. Shahrukh Khan exercises at 11pm and his workouts last an hour every day.

Shahrukh Khan never stops to learn and never stops to reinvent himself. The trend setter was helped by his trainer Prashant Sawant who put him on the right diet for over six months. He was put on a low carb diet along with exercises for his shoulders, chest and back.

How SRK got his six pack:

Morning: Protein Shake

Lunch: Grilled Chicken and Salad leaves

Evening: Another protein shake

Dinner: Same as lunch

Shahrukh Khan lived on the above diet for 5 days. On weekends, he’d eat roti, dal, sabzi and rice without ghee.

His workout was concentrated on his chest, abdomen and shoulders. He also did circuit training-esssentially endurance training like push-ups and sit-ups.

Protein shakes were in and tea/coffee were banned. Sweets were shown the door.

SRK is not a voracious eater and eats from mild to moderate quantity. Follow the disciplined diet, do the right exercise to get a wash-board belly and indulge in Dard-E-Disco!

From Kuch Kuch Hota Hain to COACH COACH HOTA HAIN!

SRK has made it a habit of getting awards almost every year. This time too, he is dangerously poised for getting an award for either Om Shanti Om, the biggest commercial hit of 2007 or the biggest critically acclaimed movie Chak De. Methinks, the Filmfare will play safe and hand over the Best Actor Award in the Critics Role for Shahrukh Khan in Chak De. Mark my words, I am saying this long before the carpet gets rolling.

Shahrukh Khan has excelled in his role as a coach in Chak De. May be it is due to the passion for the game itself or may be to get off the 'hamming frog' that was struck at his back..he certainly got his act together and had even the cynics vowing. Quite honestly, SRK has been vocal about not getting a National Award that has been evasive for a long time. Well what he missed for Swades is going to be soon in his hands for Chak De. After all, Coach Coach Hota Hain!
